Comebacks
Sometimes music from the past stages a renaissance for me, and this time it's Sarah McLachlan's Mirrorball. Mirrorball is a 1999 release and a compilation of her top hits. For whatever reason, the music is once again resonating with me and I am enjoying it immensely. There is one song on the album I don't recall paying much attention to when I first got it, but it sure is hitting home now and I absolutely love it. It's haunting, in a way, based on a recent experience of mine with a close friend, but it's fitting. It's also helping me move past that experience and I love that I can get lost in the music and McLachlan's powerful and soulful voice. The name of that song is Do What You Have To Do. Check out Mirrorball on iTunes and let me know what you think. One artist who is constantly staging a comeback with me is Tori Amos. And it's not so much that I lose her, I am just constantly revolving from one album to another as my favorite. She's always on my radar and it's unusual for a week to go by where I'm not belting out one of her songs in my car. Has any music staged a comeback with you lately? Tell me about it. It may just jog my memory and make a comeback with me, too.
