Avenue Q

What a delight! Avenue Q is a delightfully funny, light hearted musical about a group of college graduates living on Avenue Q and their struggle to find purpose in life. Oh, and the story happens to be told by puppets. Now, it's not Sesame Street... I can't think of the last time I saw puppets having sex on Sesame Street. Which, by the way, was an extremely funny, laugh out loud, scene.

I laughed throughout the production and found myself transfixed by how the on-stage actors inter-acted with their furry puppet friends. The puppeteers aren't hidden at all... in fact, they stand on stage with their puppets in hand and perform side by side. It was unusual but very effective. The actor's mastery at handling their partners was amazing... part of what makes this show truly uniQue. I enjoyed it from beginning to end.

A fellow flight attendant and I went into Manhattan tonight to see the show. We were fortunate to get the tickets at a discout (one of the perks of being a flight attendant) and had front row mezzanine seats. They were perfect! The show took place in the heart of Broadway on 45th between Broadway Ave. and 8th at the Golden Theatre. For more info, visit AvenueQ.com.

Twisted Farm Food

Breakfast has never been more weird, at least here in Vegas, since Hash House A Go Go opened in September of 2005. Beth heard about the restaurant on Martha Stewart, and the restaurant has also been featured on the Travel Channel. Their slogan is "Twisted Farm Food" and it fits. It is, indeed, twisted farm food. They take your typical breakfast fare and kick it up a notch by making masterpieces out of the food they serve. The portion sizes are outrageous... most dishes can easily feed two. The pancakes are easily 14-18" in circumference, their biscuits and gravy are served on two giant mounds of mashed potatoes and their various benedicts are flavorful variations of the original. It isn't to be missed when in town! Located on west Sahara, just east of Rainbow.
