Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a fun and safe celebration. Beth and I went to a friends house to celebrate where we met up with some old college friends of ours, and even someone I knew in high school. We all had a great time and rang in the new year with some Martinellis sparking cider. We had intended on using the real thing, but the champagne was put in the freezer and froze. That's ok. I enjoyed the Martinelli's. About 15 minutes before midnight, the whole gang headed out to a park near where we were that had a view of The Strip. From there, we enjoyed the fireworks. Before and after the celebration, we all had a great time playing Mario Kart on the Game Cube and two board games I hadn't heard of: "In 25 Words or Less" and "Squint." They both were a lot of fun.

Beth and I made it home from Gardnerville without any problems. We arrived home Tuesday night about 5pm, and later Dan and Rene made it in from Arizona. We've been hanging out all week and really enjoying ourselves. Sadly they're leaving tomorrow. The past two weeks have been a lot of fun. Very leisure and full of activities we wanted to do. Work starts Monday for both Beth and I, and although it'll be nice to get back into a normal routine, we'll be sad to settle down again.

I have finally updated the website. In the Cooking 101 section there are the Fon-dos and Fon-don'ts of Fondues. I've always loved them. There you can learn tips on how to make them as well as several recipes. There is also a recipe for Butternut Squash, Goat Cheese and Walnut spread from Cooking Light. Rene made this for us when we were in Sacramento and we all really enjoyed it.
