I flew my first night cross country last night! The best part is, Beth came along. Beth, my instructor and I flew down to Bullhead City, AZ, which is right across the Colorado River from Laughlin. There is a ramp area with tie downs right by the river, you get out, cross the street and take this free ferry to the other side of the river. So we did that and had dinner in Laughlin. What a blast! It gave me a glimpse of how fun this flying is really going to be. Beth really enjoyed it, too. She's been up with me once before when I flew with my uncle Danny, so she at least knew what she was getting herself into. I am very glad it is going to be something she will enjoy.
I am scheduled to fly my first solo cross country this morning to Mesquite, NV, but I don't think I'll get to go. The winds are forcasted to be a little gusty, and I can hear them blowing outside right now. We'll have to see. Tomorrow is my long solo cross country but the weather is supposed to be even worse, with rain showers. Mamma nature has been conspiring against me lately, or though it seems since I am on a deadline. This is Las Vegas! I thought the only weather we had was sun!
