Into the wild blue yonder!

My flight lessons are progressing well, although I have faced an unforseen setback. Because I am a diabetic, the FAA automatically denies the request for a medical certificate and you have to appeal to get it. I knew this. However, what I did not know, was that it takes up to 90 days to get it. They told me they probably will review my case in about ten minutes, but they are reviewing 300 cases at any given time. 90 days. Ugh! You have to have your medical certificate in order to solo. My instructor has given me the pre-solo written exam, and says I will be soloing in the next 5-10 hours. So, we've had to scale back my flight training, and we are going to bypass the solo and move ahead with other training. You need ten hours of solo time in order to get your license, so I'll have to do ten hours at once, I guess. This really sucks.

Anyway, it will give me a little more time to foucs on my school work too, so it isn't all bad.
