Here is my next semi-monthly post. I suppose one of the reasons I haven't been posting much lately is that the modem port on my laptop is broken, and I would venture to say half the posts I write are done on my laptop from a layover. I have not yet looked into how much it will cost to repair or replace the port, but I have looked in the cost of a PCMCIA modem card...80 bucks, thank you very much! Any suggestions?
Amber called me this morning. I think she was hoping to wake me up, although I was awake already. Still in bed, but awake. She was awaiting the bus and decided to call someone...picking me knowing I was the only one that might not be at work. We were just getting into her job when the phone went dead. I assume her battery died, but I haven't heard from her since so I don't know. She says it's hot and humid there...ick! Even now, in January. That's disgusting!
Beth and I maybe taking a trip up north over President's Day weekend. We really want to go skiing, and are weighing the benefits of driving or flying, and the cost involved. Driving isn't so bad, but when you are going for three days, two of it are spent driving. Who wants to do that? We'll see, we haven't decided if we're even going.
It is so windy here today, I am afraid to venture outside. I look out the window, and all I can see is blowing durt. I can't even see a few miles away, the dust is so thick. I was wathcing the History Channel earlier today, and now I feel like I'm living in history...I am wondering if this compares to what western settlers were experiencing during the Dust Bowl? Advice: Don't go outside. If you have to, keep your mouth closed and squint your eyes. Where goggles if possible.
