Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful and safe celebration. I guess this year, for a lot of us, will be one of looking forward, while making sure we don't forget the events that changed our innocent lives last year.
Beth and I were apart New Year's Eve as I ended having to work a trip into New Year's Day. We had discovered previoulsy that even if I didn't a have a trip to keep me away, I wouldn't have been able to make it home New Year's Eve. So, Beth planned to fly to San Jose and meet me, where we would celebrate with Liz and Mark. So, Beth, Liz and Mark rang in the New Year together, while I sat at a bar with my fellow crewmembers in Dallas. I was back in the Bay Area though around 11am on 1/1, so I met up with Beth, Liz and Mark. We headed into the city and had lunch at the Stinking Rose - A Garlic Restaurant. Fabulous food, loaded with garlic! Yum!
From there we headed to Ghirradeli Square for some fat sundaes, loaded with the good stuff. We didn't have much time, so we drove back to Liz and Mark's, where we said goodbye and headed to the San Jose airport to go home. It was a nice, simple get together and a lot of fun. I am off now until the 11th, although there is some nasty convention here in town, and all the flights next week are way oversold, which makes non-rev travel a disaster. Therefore, I am going to have to leave Wednesday sometime. Hopefully I can pick up a trip Wednesday and/or Thursday to make some extra dough!
I will be in Pittsburgh Friday night, and Reno Saturday night. I found out this past Friday my borther Brian is going to be in Pittsburgh Friday night, too! What are the chances of that? Hopefully, we will be able to hook-up. Beth is all bumbed about going back to school, although she is excited to see the kids. It's the planning that is tough, and that is what she isn't looking forward too! Poor thing.
