Well, this is the first real posting to the web blog since it has been up and running. Jenn, thank you so much for your help. Everyone, if it weren't for Jenn, you wouldn't have the ability to sit and read our mindless rants and raves. Jenn, I am sure everyone thanks you, too.
Well, I am off to San Jose tonight for another frustrating week of reserve. For those who don't know, every other month I sit reserve, which means I only know my hard days off. Otherwise, I am on-call 24 hours a day and at the company's disposal. Now, that's all fine and dandy when you live in the Bay Area, but not when you live in Las Vegas. I don't know where I will be going tomorrow, if anywhere, although there is a trip to Boston that needs coverage, something tells me my name is all over it. We'll see how it works out.
Tonight, Bethany is going on an all night walk-a-thon with her mom in North Las Vegas. The walk begins at 6 p.m. and continues until 6 a.m. Bethany and her mother are on a team for Lake Mead Hospital (where Dale works) and will be walking in shifts. They are not literally walking all night long. But they'll be there all night long. Thank goodness this is Las Vegas where overnight lows dip to a cool low nineties. Given an option, I think I'd join them instead of facing an uncertain night and, for that matter, week in the Bay Area. I hate reserve!
